There is a great deal of rumor and misinformation being transmitted through an informal network of emails and phone calls.
If you have not attended the Finance Committee budget meeting(s) you probably did not hear the answers to practically every concern that has been raised in these sometimes sincere and intelligent, sometimes crude, threatening and ignorant communications.
As president of your association I feel an obligation to provide access to all members of the community to the information that is available. As members of the community, you have an obligation to take the time to educate yourself to the facts before you draw conclusions based on rumor, misinformation or personal agendas.
Sometimes people spread lies by mistake, through ignorance of the facts. If the facts are available they have a responsibility to examine them and so ignorance is not an excuse. If you did not attend the meeting, the entire audio transcript is available to you with just the click of a button below. If you are going to challenge the good work done by your Finance Committee you had better know the facts.
We could not load the recording of the 11/03/09 Finance Committee meeting up on our regular web site (a problem that we will be addressing) so I have taken the better part of a day to convert and load the files on one of my web pages to insure that you have access to the full content of the budget meeting which detailed the options and rationale behind the Finance Committees decision and outlined the process that is followed in budget preparation and approval.
I have broken it into 8 small segments since audio files are quite large and this will allow them to load faster. Each file will take between 15 and 30 seconds to load after you double click the link. That will seem like a long time when you are staring at a blank screen, so hang in there.
